Welcome to the Parish of
Lyndhurst and Emery Down and Minstead

Keeping Faith Alive and Hope Strong

God’s wonderful creation of the New Forest is the setting for our three churches – St Michael and All Angels’ Church in Lyndhurst, Christ Church in Emery Down and All Saints’ Church in Minstead.

The rural landscapes of Minstead and Emery Down where Commoners’ animals and other livestock roam free are in contrast with Lyndhurst’s livelier atmosphere and built environment.  In these warm and welcoming surroundings, we offer a variety of ways to worship.

We have an active ministry for families and children, and dedicated support for older people.

Prayer is a major part of our Christian life and is especially so during our period of transition whilst we recruit a new Rector.  Members of the three congregations recently met together at an Away Day. This time away from distractions allowed us to focus on God's guidance to discern His priorities for our Parish.  The resulting list of topics will help us create our Parish Profile – part of the recruitment process.  However, before we draft our Profile, we need to hear from people who could not join us at the Away Day. If that is you, we invite you to take part by sending us your answers to the following questions:

1. What do you value from your local church?

2. What would you like your local church to start doing or do differently?

Please email your comments by Saturday 28 March to benefice@newforestparishes.com with “My local church” as the subject.

Pilgrims and Parishioners can enjoy peace and tranquillity for quiet contemplation in our buildings and churchyards. Visitors may appreciate architectural styles from Medieval to Victorian and a variety of art from ancient stone carvings through paintings, pre-Raphaelite stained glass to contemporary icons.

You are welcome here, please come and join us.

Safeguarding and Data Protection

The safety and security of our congregation, community and visitors is of paramount importance to us, and we have taken measures to adopt and practise safeguarding and personal data processing policies in accordance with statutory guidance.

Church Opening Times

Our three Churches are open daily for everyone from 10am to 4pm.
However, Church opening and closing may be earlier or later according to the commitments of those who kindly volunteer for this task every day.

When planning a group or special visit to any of our Churches, please check with the Parish Office or Churchwardens beforehand.
